Our team of qualified early education practitioners look after up to 30 children in the setting (24 on a Friday). Our children are all in our ‘Butterflies class’.

I am a qualified teacher, and wanted to carry on working with children after retiring in December 2019. I love being outside with the children (I am a trained forest school leader), and in my spare time enjoy gardening, running and sewing (not at the same time!)

Hazel

My name is Hazel. I have an Early Years Level 3 Childcare qualification and have worked with children for many years, including working with Preschool aged children, and also setting up and running a Rainbow Guide Unit. It is a privilege and pleasure to be able to support and observe the children through their developmental journey and I particularly enjoy messy play, reading stories, supporting the children with their social and communication skills and having lots of fun!

Support

Jo

Administrator

I’m Jo and I’m the Administrator for the Preschool. After working for over 20 years in the financial services industry, I joined the Preschool in February 2017.

My duties include: claiming funding for parents; producing parent invoices; maintaining our session lists and waiting lists; looking after our email account; writing our half-termly newsletter, and lots, lots more.

I am married with a daughter, and we live in Thorpe St Andrew.

Our Committee

Without a volunteer Committee of at least 6 members, the Preschool would legally have to shut down.
Please consider getting involved in your child’s Preschool experience, and join the Committee. The Committee looks after the HR, Health and Safety and Treasury functions of the Preschool, as well as fundraising for new equipment.

Jon

Chairman

Hi, my name is Jon and I’m the Chairperson of the parent Committee for the Preschool. My 4 year old son currently attends the Preschool, and I have 2 twin boys whom will be joining next year. I wanted to take a more active part in their early years learning, and my hope is that I bring something new to the Preschool. Without a Chairperson and Committee, the Preschool is unable to operate. So my ask of you as parents is if anyone would like to become a member of the Committee, we really need your help. We meet up every 6 weeks at one of our homes, and make decisions (along with the employed staff of the Preschool) that help run the Preschool effectively. We arrange lots of fund-raising activities for the Preschool, which is a lot of fun. So please let us know if you can spare us some of your time.

Debbie

Committee member

Hi, my name is Debbie and I joined the committee in December 2023. My daughter began at the Preschool as a Caterpillar in September 2022 and has loved every second and is currently a very happy Butterfly. I have no experience in education as I work within healthcare, but its safe to say I never really fully appreciated how fundamental the committee is to the existence of the Preschool. I have never been involved with a school committee before, however since joining I have found it very welcoming. I am enjoying supporting the amazing team here with decisions that aid the day to day running of the Preschool, and raising funds to ensure resources are available to enable each child to flourish in their individual early years experiences.

Delphean

Treasurer

Hi, I’m my name is Delphean. I joined the committee in September 2022 when my daughter started at the Preschool as a Caterpillar. I also have a son who is now at high school. When he was at Blofield Preschool ten years ago, I was secretary for the committee, and although now I do not have the time to take on such a role, I knew I wanted to be involved to help with the running of the Preschool while my daughter is there. I have no experience in education as I work within healthcare, but I enjoy getting involved and hopefully helping with the general running of things including the challenges involved like fundraising. Since September 2023 I took on the additional role of Treasurer for the Preschool Committee.

Kirsty

Committee member

Hi my name is Kirsty and I joined the committee in September 2022 when my son started at Blofield Preschool. I am a qualified primary school teacher but now work for The Healthy Child Programme so have experience working with children of which I hope will be useful to the committee. I wanted to join the team to be actively involved in my son’s early years and support the running of the preschool.

Katie

Committee Secretary

My name is Katie and I joined the Committee as Secretary in September 2022 when my daughter joined the Preschool as a Caterpillar. I’ve lived in Brundall for 15 years, and I’m a Secondary school teacher and a scout leader. I was persuaded to join the Committee by Jac (a staff member and the Committee Treasurer), who always had positive things to say about the friendly people on the Committee. I know how important Committees are for groups like the Preschool and without the Committee they couldn’t exist, so I’m happy to get stuck in and give a little bit of time and be prepared to be involved for the benefit of the young people and families in the local community.

Rachael

Committee member

Hi, my name is Rachael, and I joined the committee in November 2022. I have two little children: my eldest currently attends the Preschool, and my youngest was born in 2022. In my downtime I enjoy running and travelling. I work as a School Improvement Advisor for a Norfolk based academy. I am responsible for raising school standards and improving the quality of education mainly across primary and nursery schools. Prior to this I was a headteacher in a primary school in Norwich. Therefore I hope to be of some use to the Preschool. I joined the committee so I could be involved in my daughter’s education. Early years education sets the foundation for lifelong learning and therefore it is really important to me.

Zofia

Committee member

Hi my name is Zofia. I joined the Committee when my son started at the Preschool in September 2023. I wanted to contribute to the team running the Preschool because I know how important and crucial the role of the Committee is. I work in the insurance industry, so I hope to use some of my organisational and professional skills to support the successful running of the Preschool, and to be actively involved in my son’s early years education.
